There are many different views within the industry; especially in terms of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) in relation to Google updates. Some see them as things to make their job harder; whereas others see these updates that are improving Google’s usability; and overall the way we look at the web.

1)      Avoid irrelevant directories – niche directories can play in your favour

2)      Never pay for links; and if you do make sure they’re nofollow

3)      Get high quality links from related sources

4)      Understand the importance of great content!

5)      Develop relationships with people – not websites

Being penalised by Google can have devastating effects; especially the bigger the brand! However; due to SEO, smaller companies can now compete for terms that will generate them more traffic and hopefully end up in a sale for your business!
